Stoney Creek Volleyball Opens Power League Play with 2-2 Finish The Stoney Creek High School varsity girls volleyball team earned valuable early-season experience while finishing 2-2 in its first Power League competition of the season. The Cougars opened the event with a two-set loss to Davison before responding with a hard-fought, three-set victory over Livonia Franklin. Stoney Creek then battled Flushing in another competitive three-set match but came up just short. The team closed the day on a strong note, defeating Canton in straight sets. Stoney Creek entered the competition shorthanded, with three starters unavailable. Despite the missing players, the Cougars competed well throughout the event and showed encouraging signs against opponents they were facing for the first time this season. “Overall, I thought the team looked good,” the Stoney Creek coaching staff said. “The girls gained some much-needed game experience, competed hard and continued to improve throughout the day. We are looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish during the rest of the season.” The 2-2 finish gave Stoney Creek an opportunity to evaluate its progress, build team chemistry and identify areas for improvement as the Cougars prepare for the remainder of the season.
